Important comparisons when evaluating prices
for Octagon and Oval Gazebos:
Actually means species of wood is selected as #1 which has very few knots in the wood and classified as tight knots. The wood is kiln-dried, pressure treated and kiln-dried a second time.
All cedar shingles used for roofing are #1 grade. A #2 grade cedar shingle has knots that can fall out and create an actual hole in the roof.
All Floors are parquet, meaning all floors are 1 1/2" thick and pie shaped, following the same design as the roof structure.
All gazebos have a reinforced roof structure and reinforced floor system. Double 2x4's in the roof system and double 2x6's in the floor system.
All component parts are screwed together. Means much tighter
construction and rigidity.

It is necessary to have a flat, hard level surface to set your Gazebo on. This is very important and key to how your Gazebo will sit as to not put unnecessary stress on the joints and base of the Gazebo.
You can set your Gazebo on grass but we recommend that you put pavers under the skids and use shims to level it up
.
You can put pavers around the complete area where your base will sit.
You can use any crushed gravel to make sure that you have good drainage as we do not want your Gazebo to sit in moisture wet ground.
You can have a concrete slab poured and set your Gazebo on top of the slab or you can order your Gazebo without a floor and bolt you posts to the slab. Please check with us for assistance in determining the required size of the slab and you may want to check with your local building dept. to make sure that they do not have any additional requirements.
Any alterations or changes to your Gazebo should be discussed with an architect.
All of our Gazebos come with treated 4x4 runners and are sturdy enough that they can be placed on your lawn without the need for a special foundation.
Leveling
The
site is required to be level within 1-2 inches for the installation of
the gazebo. If the site is not level, you should level the site by
digging out the area or laying a 3-4 inch layer of leveling rock.
We can provide the service (leveling and placing rock) with advance notice at the rate of $45 per man hour.
Plastic
In very sunny areas, we recommend that you put down black plastic or weed barrier cloth to prevent grass from trying to grow up between the floor boards.
Other Foundations
Another
option is to place your gazebo on a concrete slab or footing. This is
preferable for larger gazebos and those that require on-site assembly.
If you are install a concrete slab, footings or sub-frame, ask one of our sales representatives for a footprint drawing of the respective gazebo you are interested in.
Occasionally we place a gazebo on an existing deck structure or even on a dock constructed of heavy 6x6 beams over water.
